CEW 2003 ACTION PLANS

City University of New York
(19 Campusses)

Professional Staff Congress (PSC/CUNY)

and Newark, New Brunswick, and Camden campuses

The PSC/CUNY Delegate Assembly unanimously passed a resolution supporting
CEW and adjunct demands for parity, seniority and job security. We will
distribute letters to the Chancellor echoing these demands from the point of
view of part time faculty, supportive full time faculty, and students. We hope to
collect hundreds of letters to be delivered to the Chancellor's office.

There will be an informational picket (see Poster) outside an Oct 27th meeting of the Board of Trustees. In addition to local campus events at our l9 campuses (tabling, walls of fame, meetings) we will have an all-day event at our Graduate Center on Oct 31st (including lunch and a closing reception). The morning will be a panel/workshops on preparing for applying for the many new jobs advertised at CUNY (CV, cover letter, interviews); the afternoon will be devoted to showing films about contingent labor...The Origins of Equity Week: A Simple Matter of Justice, Teachers on Wheels, and excerpts from the six-hour 2001 hearing we held before the New York State Assembly Higher Education Committee and Labor Committee on Adjunct Issues.
